Due to seasonal changes of the schedules it is best to check www.jadrolinija.hr website for exact times of ferries. You can also contact me for advice which is the best way to arrive to Jelsa.

You can arrive to Jelsa using following lines:

• Split – Jelsa – catamaran line leaves daily at 4pm from Split. It arrives to Jelsa around 5:30pm
• Split – Stari Grad ferry – there are many lines every day from Split to Stari Grad. Check on Jadrolinija website for the schedule. Stari Grad is aprox. 10km from Jelsa, so you would need to take a bus or taxi from there.
• Split – Hvar – there are daily lines from Split to Hvar. Check on Jadrolinija website for the schedule. Hvar is aprox. 30km from Jelsa, so you would need to take a bus or taxi from there. All boat lines are not connected by buses to Jelsa.

You can also reach Hvar island from Bol (Brac island), Korcula and Dubrovnik.
From Bol on Brac island by direct catamaran line daily at 5pm.
If you are arriving from Korcula there is daily connection between Korcula nad Hvar town.
From Dubrovnik there are ferries 3 times a week to Stari Grad. Second option is to drive by bus from Dubrovnik to Split, and than to take the ferry or catamaran.
If you have your car, than you can drive from Dubrovnik to Drvenik and take the ferry to Sucuraj (east point of Hvar island). From there you have aprox 50 km to Jelsa.

As already mentioned our house is situated in the centre of Jelsa on island Hvar, Croatia. Jelsa is second largest town on the island (just after Hvar town) and it has aprox. 1800 inhabitants. Streets don't have names, so don't be surprised when you se address such as JELSA BB which actually means JELSA NN (no number).

To make this as simple as possible for you I have wrote description how to find our hostel, but if you are still not shore you can always call us and we will be happy to meet you on the catamaran pier or bus station.

HOW TO FIND US IF YOU ARE ARRIVING WITHOUT CAR FROM MAIN BUS STATION OR CATAMARAN PIER:

By bus:
If you go by the main road from bus-station, just go towards the centre and towards the port and sea.
You will pass by the petrol station, post office, pharmacy, and when you
come to ATM machine and bank called SPLITSKA BANKA, turn right.
You have to enter in the road which goes between the supermarket called KERUM on your left and flower shop called KRISTINA on your right.
Just follow the wider road as it goes and aprox. 30 m from that spot you will notice big palm tree and white house. That is the place...

By catamaran:
In case that you are arriving by catamaran from Split directly to the port of Jelsa, than You should go from the port towards the park (on the central part of the bay).  You have to pass by the «ice caffe» called RIVA, and just go strait with the small street. You will arrive in front of the supermarket called KERUM.
You have to enter in the road which goes between the supermarket called KERUM on your left and flower shop called KRISTINA on your right.
Just follow the wide road as it goes and aprox 30 m from that spot you will notice big palm tree and white house. That is the place...

HOW TO FIND US IF YOU ARE ARRIVING BY CAR:
Since the centre is closed for traffic in the season (from June till October), here are descriptions how to find us if you are driving from Stari Grad or from Sucuraj to Jelsa. If you are arriving in low season or after-season than you can drive through the centre, so just follow the description from abowe. (direction from the bus-station)

Direction from Stari Grad or Hvar town:
If you are arriving from Stari Grad or Hvar than when you approach to Jelsa, don’t enter the town on the first crossing, but continue driving strait up the hill to second crossing. (It is about 200m distance, and on your right side you have to pass by Fire fighters centre). On that second crossing turn left (enter to Jelsa), and after 50m turn right in the first street. Drive strait until you arrive in front of the church. There turn left and follow the road for about 30m. After 30m on your right side you will spot a green fence made of trees, grass-plot and white house. That is our place. Continue driving to the parking lot, open the gate and there you are….
It is really simple to drive to the house, but drive slowly since the roads are narrow and two-way.

Directions from Sucuraj:
Drive from Sucuraj to Jelsa. Don’t enter on the first entrance to Jelsa (same direction for hotel HVAR/Mina, and Camp site Mina), but proceed to second entrance to the centre. It is a crossing where you have to turn right. (if you drive strait you will continue to Stari Grad, left is road to PITVE, ZAVALA; etc..).
Immediately after 50m turn right in the first street. Drive strait until you arrive in front of the church. There turn left and follow the road for about 30m. After 30m on your right side you will spot a green fence made of trees, grass-plot and white house. That is our place. Continue driving to the parking lot, open the gate and there you are….
It is really simple to drive to the house, but drive slowly since the roads are narrow and two-way.
